Exploring a loft conversion as an extension option, challenging due to potential constraints such as restricted headroom, the reliability of the existing structure, and limited space for accommodating new stairs, can be a complex decision. However, when executed meticulously with attention to detail, such projects can yield exceptional results. In this instance, a hip-to-gable conversion coupled with a rear-facing dormer proved to be the optimal solution.

Our collaboration with the client was marked by a close partnership, encompassing comprehensive responses to design and technical inquiries. This approach ensured that the ultimate solution for reinforcing both the main floor and roof was both sound and effective. Subsequently, the process transitioned to the detailed design stage, culminating in the creation of refined architectural plans that encapsulated the project's vision.

In response to the client's request for a transformation from a cramped living area to an expansive open-plan family space, we offered a range of design possibilities for a single-story side extension. Ultimately, the selected design brings in abundant natural light through generous atrium glazing and glass doors that connect seamlessly with the garden, complemented by strategically placed skylights. Additionally, the existing garage space to the rear has been repurposed as a new office outbuilding. The spacious garden was preserved and further enhanced by the surrounding extensions. The creation of a detailed 3D model of the building has also opened up opportunities for potential future modifications, including dormers or hip-to-gable extensions.
